Customer Subscriptions
Sell a product on a recurring schedule, either as an alternative to buying once or as a subscription-only product. These are your customers’ subscriptions to your products, not your Landingsite website plan.
Add a Recurring Plan
Section titled “Add a Recurring Plan”Ask the AI to configure the product and its storefront controls:
Offer this coffee as a one-time purchase or a monthly subscription at 10% off. Add the plan selector and the customer Account page with a link in the site navigation.
For a subscription-only offer, say so explicitly:
Sell the membership only as a $30 USD monthly subscription. Do not offer a one-time purchase.
Plans can recur in weeks, months, or years, with intervals up to one year. Monthly means a calendar month; every four weeks is a different schedule. A plan can use a percentage reduction from the product price or a fixed recurring amount.
Include delivery costs in the plan price. Store shipping rates are not added to subscription renewals. For physical subscriptions, collect the shipping address and make sure the recurring price covers delivery.
You can prepare and test plans in the editor before connecting Stripe. Live subscription checkout requires active payments and a published customer Account page.
How Customers Buy
Section titled “How Customers Buy”Customers choose a plan and use Subscribe. Subscription purchases use their own checkout flow with quantity one; they do not go through the ordinary shopping cart.
The AI should add the customer page at /account and link it from the header or footer. Check that page and the plan selector before publishing. Preview test checkout does not charge the buyer or run recurring renewals.
Promo codes can apply to subscription purchases. The offer’s duration determines whether a discount applies to the first invoice, every invoice, or a limited number of months.
View and Cancel Subscriptions
Section titled “View and Cancel Subscriptions”Ask the AI to list subscribers or inspect a specific subscription. Be clear about the customer and product; test subscriptions are labeled and are not real recurring revenue.
Show the subscription for [customer email] to the monthly coffee plan, including its next renewal and current status.
The owner can ask the AI to cancel a customer’s subscription at the end of its current period. The customer keeps access until then, and cancellation does not issue a refund. Confirm the correct customer and subscription before proceeding.
Customers can also manage cancellation on your site’s Account page. If they change their mind before the period ends, they can reactivate there; the agent does not undo cancellation in chat.
Change Plans Carefully
Section titled “Change Plans Carefully”Changing a product’s selling plans affects new signups. Existing subscribers keep the pricing snapshot from their signup; changing the advertised price is not a way to reprice all subscribers.
Switching an existing product to subscription-only removes its one-time purchase option. Have the AI update and publish the corresponding storefront controls at the same time.
Physical renewals produce orders to fulfill, but do not decrement inventory. Review recurring demand when planning stock. For individual order refunds, use Orders, Receipts & Refunds.
