Shipping

For physical goods, configure three separate things: collect the buyer’s address, choose where you ship, and set what shipping costs. Turning on address collection alone does not add postage or restrict delivery countries.

Ask the AI to collect a shipping address at checkout for each physical product. Leave it off for downloads, tips, and services that do not need delivery.

Tell the AI the countries you serve:

Only accept shipping addresses in the United States and Canada.

This is a store-wide checkout restriction for products that collect a shipping address. It does not affect products that collect no address. Without a configured country restriction, address collection does not by itself limit the store to your home country.

Ask the AI to save the actual rates you want buyers to pay:

Set Standard shipping to $5 USD per order and Express to $15 USD. Make Standard free when shippable items total at least $75 USD. Confirm the saved settings.

Rates are flat per order, rather than per item or based on package weight. They apply to one-time orders that collect a delivery address, including products added later. A store with no rates charges nothing for postage.

You can offer up to five rates. Every option is offered to every eligible shipping buyer; a label such as “Canada only” does not create a country-specific rate. Delivery countries are a separate setting.

There are three ways to offer free shipping:

  • Always free: ask the AI to clear shipping rates.
  • A free choice alongside paid choices: add a zero-price option, such as Standard, alongside Express.
  • Free above a spending threshold: set a free-shipping threshold. When qualifying shippable items reach it, the cheapest rate becomes free; more expensive options retain their prices.

These settings do not provide per-item, weight-based, or destination-specific postage calculations. Subscription plans include shipping in their recurring price; they do not add the store’s one-time shipping rates on renewal.

Use editor test checkout to inspect the simulated shipping experience. It does not verify live Stripe checkout or payment collection. Ask the AI to read back the saved countries and rates as well.

After a real sale, open Orders, select the order, and use its Ship to address. Once you have sent the goods, use Mark as shipped and optionally record a tracking number. The mark covers the whole order, not individual items. Recording that mark does not buy a shipping label or dispatch a package.
